This group is dedicated to one of Egypt’s greatest periods and the dynasty that launched the New Kingdom, the 18th dynasty. Many exciting events took place during this era of ancient Kemet: a power hungry Queen that became king and was loathed for it, Pharaoh Hatshepsut; a religious and art revolution that almost bankrupted the wealthiest nation of its time under Amenhotep IV (Akhentaten) just after Egypt’s zenith in power and prestige under Amenhotep III.
